Outdoor Action Pro-Team

Teddy started guiding in 1993 but has been an outdoorsman all his life.  As a youngster Teddy was introduced to hunting and fishing by his family.  His grandfather Wilson Carr made him his constant hunting companion and his dad and uncles could not get out of the driveway to go fishing without him begging to tag along.  The art of his trade is not one learned from a book or class but is a birthright a talent that comes as easy to him as putting ones shoes on.  Teddy attended Orange County High School where he was a talented athlete that excelled on the football field.  He is quick to point out the one thing that motivates him most is competition being the best at what he does.  This trait enabled him to become a tenacious and successful Bass Tournament fisherman during the 80's and 90's.  Teddy's clients inherit this same will and determination when they spend the day fishing with him he is relentless in his efforts to produce for them.  His professional manner mixed with his down home attitude make him a joy to spend the day with.  In addition to being a professional fisherman he is a published Author, his book "Fishing Lake Anna with Teddy Carr" is a huge success. All this success is the second most important thing in Teddy's life, the most important is his wife and three kids.  Teddy married his high school sweetheart Donna and they have three kids Jon, Justin and Taylor.  Jon and Justin attend Orange County High just as their parents did.  Where they are outstanding student athletes.  Donna and Taylor being the women of the house and the bosses keep the boys straight.  Teddy and Donna both grew up in Locust Grove and still reside there today.

Captain Eric Peterson

Eric has two passions in life besides his beautiful wife Karen and their kids Jordin, Dylan, and Morgan and that's waterfowl hunting and bass fishing.  Eric started hunting at the age of 10 when his father and uncle took him on his first quail hunt in western Kentucky.  Watching his uncle's German Short Hair and English Pointers work the fields left a lasting impression on him that would never leave.  Though Eric started off upland hunting, he soon learned that his real passion in wing shooting was waterfowl.  Eric has hunted all 4 flyways in the United States but his roots are in the Chesapeake Bay region.   Part of the experience in waterfowl hunting is watching a retriever do what they were bred for, retrieve game. Eric has a Black Lab named Andy that does the work for you so you don't have to get your feet wet and allows you to experience the waterfowling tradition as it was meant to be.  "I swear he knows every duck on the fly-way on a first name basis" quote, Teddy Carr.  When the hunting season is over, Eric gets his Bass Cat out on the waters of the Tidal Potomac to chase it's most prized fish the largemouth bass.  Growing up near the river has afforded him the time to learn the waters. Eric is intense an individual as you will ever meet when it comes to deriving success for his clients.  No detail goes undisclosed as he works for his clients.  Whether it's a guided fishing trip or hunting trip Eric cares deeply for his client's well being and success.

Hobbies: Eric's favorite hobby is carving and collecting Chesapeake Bay decoys.  Many of the decoys in his collection were carved by the masters of the upper bay and gunned over in the early to mid 1900's on the same waters we guide on.

Captain Eddie Griggs

Eddie’s love for the outdoors began at a very young age; having three wonderful teachers and role models growing up, his father and two grandfathers. Eddie’s adventures in fishing began at the ripe age of 5 when his father let him tag along on his annual spring trips to the Appalachian Mountain streams in search of brook and rainbow trout. His grandfathers’ also shared the love of the outdoors and took him fishing and hunting across of much of the Old Dominion. They always took the time to teach the why’s and how’s and to instill the enjoyment of the outdoors; not just the catch or the kill.    Although these three great men are no longer with him here on earth, the memories and the lessons will never be forgotten. From 1992 – 1998, Eddie fished regularly on the James and Chickahominy Rivers. He started fishing local and Team Tournaments and began to turn up the dial on educating himself about how to catch more and bigger fish. In 1999, Eddie won his first Tournament and since has not looked back. Eddie Griggs is one of the most feared tournament fisherman in the Mid- Atlantic; with over 10 wins and 20 Top 5’s in the last 5 years. He is also a respected teacher of the sport, and his easy going country charm makes him a perfect fit for my organization. The magic of sunrises and cooling waters takes him back to those trout streams with his Pop. When Eddie’s not on the water or in the woods; he enjoys spending time outdoors with or watching his son Chris; on either the youth baseball or football fields. Eddie only hopes that he can be half the great influence and teacher of life to Chris; as those who influenced him.

Hobbies: Eddies hobbies include deer hunting, turkey hunting and coaching youth sports.

Boat: Eddie runs a Triton TR-21X powered by a Mercury 250XS Optimax.

Sponsors: Triton Boats, Pop’s Marine, Mercury Outboards, Bomber, Booyah, Rebel, Smithwick, Excaliber, Silver Thread, Yum, and Smith Action Optics.

Eddie is a  Licensed USCG Captain and is currently guiding on the Potomac River, Buggs Island, Lake Gaston, James River, and the Chickahominy River.
