Guided Fishing Trips
 |
The favorite part of my job
is the people I meet and the relationships that are forged.
I know that an enjoyable and productive day is important to you
and nothing less than the best is what you can expect from
Outdoor Action. My personal belief is that when you book a
trip and spend your hard earned money you deserve a
professional. We deliver, period!

Outdoor Action
performs guided fishing trips on the following bodies of water.
| Lake Anna
Lake Anna is my home lake I
have over 25-years of bass fishing experience on this lake.
Lake Anna is definitely Outdoor Action's play ground when it
comes to putting our clients on largemouth bass that go over the
8-pound mark. There are very few places I would rather
fish during the month of April. |
|
Tidal Potomac River
Certainly a top-5 bass
fishery in the United States. The Potomac experienced a
slight decline during the late 1990's, but in the summer of 2001
I forecasted that we were going to experience some of the best
bass fishing this river has ever had to offer. I based
this on the huge spawns and recruitment of bass during 1999,
2000, and 2001. It's obvious I was correct in my forecast.
The river is as strong as ever and no doubt our most popular
destination for our guided trips. |
| Tidal
Rappahannock River
Most underrated largemouth
bass fishery in the Mid-Atlantic. That's OK we like it
that way. Absolutely one of the most beautiful places we
fish. I spend a great deal of time of my autumn fishing on
this river from historic Fredericksburg down to Port Royal.
During the spring however we head down river and fish out on the
many expansive flats and woodland swamps. |
| Upper
Susquehanna River
The Susky is without question
a World Class smallmouth bass fishery. I have lost count
of the 5-pound plus bass we have caught here in the last
10-years. We start here in late March and stay until mid
May. During late March through early April you may find
yourself pulling in hard digging bass that fell prey to a tube
jig during a late season snow storm or watching a spinnerbait
get demolished as it's being rolled through a weed bed during
the warmer end of our stay. The mountain scenery of this
trip makes it just that much more exciting. |
| Buggs Island
This is usually where we get
our year started. Talking about finding the mother load of
pre-spawn staging largemouth. This is where it goes down
for numbers of quality largemouth during the months of March and
April. March will find you targeting rocky points with
crankbaits and jerkbaits. Then in April we move to the
flooded bushes for some up close and personal action.
There's nothing quite like tossing a lure into the top of one of
these flooded buck bushes then watch it shake violently before
you even feel the bite. It's on then folks! Just as
I forecasted the resurgence of the Potomac I'm doing the same
for Buggs in fact it has already begun. Watch this place
over the next 3-years it's going to be awesome! |

Tidal James River
Dubbed America's River the
James and it's tributaries provide acres of bass habitat.
I personally like the lowland section of the river where you
find cypress laden marsh land. Probably the most popular
tributary is the Chickahominy River. However for quality
bass I prefer the Appomattox River. The river and it
tributaries is not only home to natural bass habitat but also to
an abundance of hidden treasures such as rock piles and sunken
barges and we know where they are. |
| Lake Gaston
I refer to Lake Gaston as a
bigger version of Lake Anna. And just as Anna is home to
some real giants so is Gaston. Gaston is a structure lake
where bass inhabit off shore humps, ridges, drop-offs and old
creek beds. As for cover options it is properly refer to
as a dock lake. During the spring we focus our attention to
fishing docks and creek channel drops for big pre-spawn females.
